The impressive Primate Palace – the most beautiful palace in the city - is situated on Primate Square in a North – East part of the center of Bratislava.


The impressive Primate Palace – the most beautiful palace in the city - is situated on Primate Square in a North – East part of the center of Bratislava.
The Primate Palace was built in 1778-1781 for archbishop and cardinal Joseph Batthyány. It is a residence of bishops from the 14th century and a residence of Hungarian primates endangered by Turks.
The Palace has got a characteristic pink facade. One of the attractions is the Mirrored Hall where the agreement between France and Austria was signed.
Visitors can also see the exhibition of six Gobelin Tapestry of Bratislava from the 17th century that came from English royal manufacture in Mortlake. They depict an ancient legend of tragic love of Hera and Leander.
