Discover with us all important sites related with era of Communist Regime in Bratislava. The tour will start on one of the most recognizable city’s squares - Freedom Square. Its previous name referred to the first communist president of Czechoslovakia. The next stop will be by the building of the Slovak Radio, called the Pyramid because of its shape. From there we will go to see the Slavin War Memorial. It is a monument for Soviet soldiers who died during World War II. It consists of thousands of graves and many monuments, with a 39.5 m obelisk. Then we will go to Slovak National Uprising Square, with a bronze Monument to the Slovak National Uprising in 1944. In the days leading up to the fall of the communist regime, a huge crowd was gathering here.
The next stop during our tour will be Parliament building situated right next to Bratislava Castle, which is visible over the whole city. We will admire beautiful panoramic view over the Danube river and city centre.
Finally we will cross The Novy Bridge. It has a characteristic pylon topped at a height of 84 meters by 'flying ufo', with a restaurant and an observation deck, which we can reach by a quick lift. It will be a great opportunity to take some more panorama pictures of Bratislava. The trip will end up on the other side of the Danube, with visiting major attractions in the most residential area of Bratislava called Petrzalka – great example of the Communist-era architecture.
