Banska Stiavnica is located approx 185 km from Bratislava. The beginning of this perfectly preserved medieval town is dated to the 12th century and related with the mining activity. The most important highlights are located within the centre of the town. We will see the 16th century Holy Trinity Square with the 15th century Gothic St. Catherine church and Holy Trinity Column with fantastic sculptures. But first of all, we will visit an ancient silver mine - the oldest in this area which is situated just under the Main Square. Beauty and historical value of the town was recognized by UNESCO and since 1993 Banska Stiavnica is included on the list of World Heritage Sites.

On the way back to Bratislava we will also show you Topolcianky – small village famous for its Renaissance castle which served as the summer residence of Czechoslovak presidents for over 30 years in the first part of the 20th century. One of the castle’s wings is nowadays the greatest example of Slovakian neoclassical architecture.
